This is my favorite subject matter to paint. I recently visited a friend of mine who just moved into an old home like this and when we walked into the kitchen you could feel the uneven floor beneath the linoleum. I remembered as a child, the painted kitchen cabinets, the chair-rail panel  around the room, each kitchen chair a different style and un-matching china with each member of the family having their favorite coffee cup.  Fond memories gush every time I do as much as pass by one of these old homesteads.
